ON THE LAST WEEKEND IN OCTOBER the township of Tallangatta is Australia's home of Rock'n'Roll

The Delltones remain one of the most consistent live entertainers in Australia with arguably the longest performing and recording history for a vocal harmony band with an original member – Peewee Wilson. If you only go out once this year, don’t miss the Delltones Live

ON THE LAST WEEKEND IN OCTOBER the township of Tallangatta is Australia's home of Rock'n'Roll. The township of Tallangatta is located in North East Victoria and was relocated in the mid-50s, a time when Frankie J Holden and the FJ Holden were cruising around town looking for a good Rock'n'Roll night out. The Bodgies and the Widgies wore their leathers and Winkle Pickers; and Elvis was shaking his pelvis like no other. 50s chicks wore the beehive hairdo, bobby socks, twin sets and scarves; Tupperware parties were all the rage! The 50s were a time when a good pot of Bushels tea was shared among friends over the red or green laminex table while tuning into the wireless to hear the latest hits of the likes of Johnny Young, Lonny Lee, Normie Rowe, Johnny Chester and Little Pattie. The 50s was a time when home was sweet home, and Rock was about to change the world. Join thousands of Rock'n'Roll enthusiasts from all over the country for a non-stop Rock'n'Roll weekend; wear your 50s gear and twist and groove all weekend baby! There are classic cars, motorcycles, non-stop Rock'n'Roll dancing, world class entertainment, busking, art show and so much more!

REV IT UP and get that Chevy or Classic Car or Motorcycle out of the shed for Sunday October 28. Some of Australia’s finest classic cars and motorbikes gather along the main street of Tallangatta to talk engines, show and shine and, for some enthusiasts, their classics work like chick magnets reminding them of days in the 1950s.

Check out the 50s memorabilia, great big lollypops, arts, crafts and household goodies fill the central parkland of Tallangatta. Year after year market stalls are booked out well in advance. Priority is given to stall holders who stick to a 1950s theme. Stall-holders dress-up, items are at 1950s prices eg. $10.50, and there’s Buddy Holly glasses and so much more.

    50S SHOP

Tallangatta has a unique and interesting shop in the main street that depicts all that is 1950s.

This amazing shop has been created by Ray Crispin with lots of love and passion.

The Tallangatta 50s Festival entertainment is always first class and unbelievable value for money. For just $15 per adult you can dance the soles off your shoes, meet new Rock’n'Roll friends and enjoy the many festivities that the Tallangatta 50s festival has to offer
